Enroll your children in a summer camp that will strengthen their leadership abilities and increase their awareness of key global issues.
Although the dreary Canadian winter makes it hard to imagine we’ll ever have beach weather, registration for children’s summer camps may have already begun. This summer, why not enroll your children in a camp that will strengthen their leadership abilities, cultivate their compassion for others, and increase their awareness of pressing global issues?
Creating the leaders of tomorrow
The Take Action Academy, a Me to We initiative, is running summer camps in eight major cities across North America. Youth aged nine to 21 can register for six- or seven-day programs that foster leadership, community involvement, and friendship. Best of all, Academy participants get hands-on volunteer experience locally within their communities.
Volunteer—it’s good for you!
Community involvement, including volunteering, is excellent for our health and well-being. Benefits of volunteering include:
- connecting with others, within and outside of our communities
- increasing self-esteem
- feeling a sense of fulfillment and accomplishment
- developing new skills and taking part in new experiences
- widening our future career options
- setting a good example
If these are things you’d like your children to walk away with, check out the Take Action Academy. To find out where the Take Action Academy is happening, and for more information and videos about the program, check out Me to We’s website. Prices for the Academy are also listed online, and full or partial bursaries are available to those who are passionate about attending, but may not have the financial resources. Bursary applications are being accepted until the end of March, so don’t wait long!
